The Humphrey Law Firm, P.C. really began as an idea when Marc Humphrey was a law student. He knew as he was progressing through law school that at some point he wanted to have his own law firm that focused on helping people. After participating in both mock trial settings and appeals court settings, he knew that he wanted to speak for people in a courtroom setting who had been harmed in some way from the negligent or intentional conduct of others.
Out of law school, Marc Humphrey joined a local Des Moines law firm and tried his first case alone only two weeks out of law school. That experience fueled his desire to become a trial lawyer who represented people, not large corporations. After spending fifteen months with the local Des Moines law firm, he ventured out on his own with his dear law school friend, Fred Haas. For eighteen years, he and Fred remained partners in the firm known as Humphrey and Haas, P.C. However throughout that period of time Marc Humphrey continued to handle an increasing percentage of injury claims caused by negligent or substandard medical care. Because of his desire to continue to focus on that area of litigation, he and Fred made the decision to go their separate ways in 1998. In 1998, the Humphrey Law Firm, P.C. began. It has continued since then. The Humphrey Law Firm, P.C. is a law firm that focuses on personal injury litigation of all types. The Humphrey Law Firm, P.C. is really in the business of preventing serious injury or death through the negligent or intentional conduct of others. Through the many injury cases that have been handled by the Humphrey Law Firm, P.C., there have developed many situations where negligent conduct which exposes individuals to risk of injury have been brought to the attention of decision makers and proactive steps have been taken to minimize that conduct and reduce the risk of injury for all of us. Many of those cases have involved negligent medical care either by physicians or within a hospital setting. However, the Humphrey Law Firm, P.C. is proud of the many cases in which the efforts of the members of that law firm have made a real difference in the future lives of their clients and have likewise made a real difference in promoting the safety of others who have followed in their clients’ footsteps.
The Humphrey Law Firm, P.C. handles all types of injury litigation. There is no charge for an initial consultation. In fact, we routinely conduct investigations as to claims brought to our attention and if we believe the claim is meritorious, we work on a contingent fee basis which means there is no charge for our services unless we are successful in obtaining for you the recovery that you deserve.
